These distinctive cushion covers are sourced from Barefoot, an ethical company in Sri Lanka which supports Sri Lankan craftsmen and women. They are hand-woven in the Dumbara valley of central Sri Lanka, giving them the name Dumbara weavings. The designs are based on traditional Arabic patterns, brought to Sri Lanka in the 17th century by traders from the middle east. These designs have been handed down through generations of weaving families and are now firmly associated with Dumbara. Each cover is finished by Barefoot with three coconut shell buttons on the back.
